GOD - MINDFUL OF MAN

            GOD - MINDFUL OF MAN
                        Hebrews 2:6

INTRO: God is ever mindful of his creation. Insignificant as
man is, God still has tended to all his needs. Even though
man sometimes forgets God, God still remembers his creatures.
GOD IS MINDFUL OF MAN'S:

I. PHYSICAL NEEDS
    A. Commanded to pray for them.
        1. "... our daily bread" (Lk. 11:3).
        2. Paul prayed for physical things (Rom. -32).
        3. God provides them (Matt. -33).
    B. But - man also has his responsibilities.
        1. One who does not meet them is "worse than an
            infidel" (1 Tim. 5:8).
        2. Must labor for his bread (2 Thess. ; Eph. ).

II. SOCIAL NEEDS
    A. God created Adam in the beginning.
        1. "... not good for man to be alone" (Gen. 2:18).
        2. Man, by nature, is a social creature.
        3. So - God provided social order.
    B. Man's responsibility to his neighbor.
        1. The "'golden rule" (Lk. ).
        2. Be concerned for one another (Phil. 2:4).
        3. We are indeed "our brother's keeper."

III. SPIRITUAL NEEDS
    A. Man created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26-27).
        1. God is spirit; therefore man possesses a spirit (Gen. 2:7).
        2. Man then, is more than "wholly mortal."
    B. Man fell from his sinless state.
        1. Sin now introduced into the world (Rom. ).
        2. God then promised a Savior (Gen. 3:15; Matt. ).
        3. Saved us "while we were sinners" ( Rom. 5:8).
    C. Gospel given to save man.
        1. God's only power to save (Rom. ; 1 Cor. ).
        2. Powerful today as it ever was (1 Pet. -25).
    D. Scriptures given to guide man.
        1. Make one "wise unto salvation" (2 Tim. ).
        2. "Completely furnishes us" (1 Tim. -17).
        3. Man cannot safely guide himself(Jer. ; Matt. 15:9).

IV. ETERNAL NEEDS
    A. Man will live eternally.
        1. Not physically speaking (Heb. ; Eccl. 9:5).
        2. But spiritually - somewhere he will live (Rev. 21:4; Lk. ).
    B. God has made provision.
        1. Heaven a "prepared place for a prepared people"
            (Matt. 25:34; Heb. ).
        2. Man will want for nothing there - God has provided
            (Rev.2l:21-27)!

CONCLUSION: God has made provision for you in every
aspect of your existence - he has been "mindful of you." Since
he has been mindful of you, surely you need to be mindful of
him, and obey his will today.
